Osimhen: “Future? I don’t know what will happen, I’m in love with Galatasaray”

Victor Osimhen
Istanbul, February 25, 2025 – The summer of 2024 had an absolute protagonist, especially with regards to Serie A : Victor Osimhen . The Nigerian, in fact, was a “separated at home” for the entire summer, with Napoli deciding to opt for Lukaku and sidelining the former number 9. For several months, Osimhen was close to several teams: from PSG to Chelsea via Al-Hilal , but with none of them did he reach a white smoke. Not even when it seemed all done for the move to Al-Hilal did the deal come to a close, therefore, at the end of the transfer market for the top European leagues (including Serie A), Osimhen remained at Napoli, even if he was out of the squad. With the transfer to Arabia having fallen through and the transfer market closed in the Premier League as well, Galatasaray stepped forward, and in the following days they managed to take the striker on loan for a season and add him to a team already full of former Serie A players, such as Dries Mertens and Mauro Icardi . In the first days of September, therefore, Osimhen became a new player for the Istanbul Giallorossi, but after having renewed his contract with Napoli until 2027. After the big match between Galatsaray and Fenerbache , which ended 0-0, the Nigerian striker was asked what will happen to his future, since at the end of the season he will return to Napoli, even if only for a short time. The striker responded by saying that at the moment he is not yet thinking about the transfer market and that his head is focused on Galatasaray, where he is very happy and feels the trust of the entire environment, starting from the fans up to the president and the staff. So far, Osimhen has scored 14 goals in 19 league games and 6 goals in 7 Europa League matches. This year too, he has proven to be an excellent striker, so it is highly likely that when the next transfer market opens, many teams will be interested in his situation. From England, there is talk of strong interest from Manchester United , but Chelsea (who were close to the player last summer) could also return to the rescue. Osimhen also has several admirers in Italy: it is no mystery that Giuntoli is particularly attached to the striker, so the path that would lead him to Juventus should the Old Lady decide to let go of Vlahovic should also be monitored. In any case, the player is now one hundred percent focused on Galatasaray, and all the questions regarding his future will only find answers in the summer, when the lights of the transfer market will be turned back on.
